Delete your account

You can delete your Whimzi account at any time. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

In the app

1. Open Whimzi and go to You.
2. Open Settings.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

This works even if your account has been suspended.

Without the app

Write to us from the email address on your account and ask for it to be deleted. If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, write from any address and tell us roughly when you joined; we will ask you to confirm from inside the app, because we cannot otherwise tell that the account is yours.

What is deleted

• Every moment you filmed — the video is deleted from storage, not hidden.
• Your name, email, date of birth and profile photo.
• The places you follow, the moments you loved, your blocks, your notification settings and your phones’ notification addresses.
• Any “tell me when it’s live here” request still waiting with one of your phones’ notification addresses. (Others carry nothing that links them to you.)
• Your sign-in with Apple is revoked, so Whimzi disappears from your Apple ID’s list of apps.

What is kept, and why

• Reports you made stay on record, without your name, so a moderation decision can still be explained.
• A place stays a place: other people filmed it too, and your leaving does not rewrite that.
• If you were refused at sign-up for being under the minimum age, a one-way code that recognises the account (and nothing else — no name, no date) is kept so the refusal holds.
